I booked Hotel Raj, part of Raj Group including Suv Palace, Gopinath, Basanti, 1.5 months in advance for my family. What we got was nothing like what had been promised. The booking video was misleading, and the room was cramped, filthy, and smelly, with dust everywhere, cigarette butts on the floor, and bathroom lights that didn’t work. There were no charging points by the bed, so you have to hang your phone in the air by the bathroom point to charge it. No geyser either. For hot water, we had to carry buckets from a public area, which took forever for a family of four. It’s far from Swargadwar and Temple, and autos charge ₹200 for one side. When I tried to cancel because of the conditions, they charged ₹1800 for a day, ₹1620 in cancellation fees, and ₹300 for a mattress, making ₹3720 for a room that isn’t worth ₹500. Staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. At 11 PM and again at 5 AM, they misbehaved and fought with me in front of the ladies in my family. They were aggressive and seemed ready to get physical. A nightmare experience. The management was horrible, the rooms disgusting, and I didn’t feel it was safe for families. Don’t be fooled by the “Raj Group” name. Stay away!

We took 5 rooms, and the sea view from the one at the front of the hotel was like heaven. The location is amazing, and everyone from the security guard to the service man and room boy was very nice. The service boy on the second floor was very good other than ladies. My one request is to share the Wi-Fi password with every room. We were given the wrong pw. 😃😃🙄

Food was tasty and the service was quick. The rooms were clean, the staff polite, and the location very convenient. I had a really pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this place for a comfortable visit.

For a meager price of rs3500, my AC room 101 had two private attached balconies, one open and one glass-walled, both overlooking the beach and set up with seating. There was also a bigger shared balcony in the corridor just outside my door. The view is good from the beach-facing windows and balconies, even though the hotel isn’t right across the road running parallel to the beach. A wide street in front of it leads to the beach. Amenities included a mini fridge, electric kettle, and hair dryer. There’s a lawn too. Service and staff behavior were excellent, but the food quality was mediocre, nothing to write home about.

The beach is just 3 mins away from the hotel. It was well maintained, the staff behaved very well, and service was quick.
