We ended up cancelling and leaving, and I came away with one of the worst impressions I've had of a hotel. We had booked two rooms for one night and paid nearly ₹10,000, while similar rates online seemed much lower, but the way we were treated was the bigger problem. Receptionist Mr. Mohan spoke loudly, rudely, and unprofessionally, as if letting us stay were a favour. Staff were argumentative and wouldn't cooperate with basic requests. We came to Rameswaram for a peaceful trip and instead felt stressed and unwelcome from the start. I also noticed the property was previously called Hotel Fortune, so future guests may want to read reviews from that time. The appearance alone doesn't tell you what the stay will be like. Hospitality starts at reception, and one staff member can harm the whole property's reputation. The owner needs to take guest relations and front-desk behaviour seriously, or people will leave with bad memories.

The whole hotel smelled strongly of paint, which made our stay uncomfortable. Reception staff were very rude and unprofessional, and the room service was poor. We booked one room online, but because the second room couldn't be booked online, the hotel charged us double for it. They also refused to give us an extra bed.
