Everything in the room was well maintained, and the stay was comfortable and pleasant. Megha made check-in smooth and was very polite. At checkout, Ambika Das was kind and gave us a thoughtful gift.

The breakfast buffet was a real highlight, with hot food from Indian and Western options. There were eggs made to order, muesli, bread and porridge, plus dosa, puri subzi, poha and upma, along with juice, tea and coffee. The staff were attentive and quick to help, and the chef even came around to ask how people were enjoying breakfast and whether they needed anything. That was a nice touch, and seemed like a good way to get feedback. We stayed at Vivanta, Shillong from 17th January to the 20th and had a comfortable, enjoyable few days. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, greeting us with smiles and a refreshing drink at check-in. They brought our luggage to the rooms, which were neat and well equipped, with good quality towels and soap. There was also a kettle and tea and coffee sachets. The bed really was comfortable. When I asked for a cotton pillow instead of the foam ones, housekeeping brought one right away. Service in both the restaurant and rooms was consistently friendly. On the evening of 19th Jan, my daughter returned from a day outing to find a birthday cake in her room and flowers decorating the bed, with birthday wishes written there. It was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. I was impressed with the property and happy with our stay.
The restaurant buffet had plenty of variety, and both breakfast and dinner were great. Prices were very reasonable. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and informative, and gave us useful guidance on tourist spots, attractions and markets. Vivanta is right next to police bazar, close to local markets, restaurants and clubs. The rooms are spacious, neat and organized. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely stay here again if I visit Shillong.
The security checks when you return with a bag from outside gave me peace of mind. The place itself is quaint and cozy, but still has state of the art facilities. The staff were very polite and always ready to help with a smile. Special mention to Rajesh, Mithun (f&b), Rittika and the others. The management deserves credit for keeping the staff so happy and helpful. Check-in at reception was smooth and hassle-free. And the food is the best in Shillong, for sure. Breakfast is complimentary with the stay and has a huge range of options from around India and beyond. The a la carte menu has even more choice, and the chefs made our stay more worthwhile.
The buffet breakfast was the best we’ve had so far on our trip to Sri Lanka and India. There was a great variety, and chef Bablu made tasty food. The sambar dosa was especially good, the vada was the yummiest and crispy, and the paneer paranthas were amazing. The room and bathroom were very clean, with premium linen and towels. We checked in for two nights at Vivanta Shillong and were warmly welcomed by staff at the entrance, security and reception. Our room was beautifully decorated for our wedding anniversary, with a cake and fruit waiting for us. After a really bad experience with Summit Hotels in Darjeeling and Shillong, this touched our hearts. I asked to meet the housekeeping staff who decorated the room, and Darisha and Pynshngain came quickly. We thanked them and offered tips, but both politely refused. We noticed that none of the staff accepted tips during our stay. We thanked the team for all the care. Highly recommended. I wish we’d booked Vivanta in Darjeeling too. Great service, Vivanta.
