The room was awful: stained, unclean bedsheets, a bad smell as soon as we walked in, and a washroom that looked untouched for weeks. There was leaking water, no towels, and almost no ventilation. We’d been checked in for four hours and still hadn’t received towels, bedsheets, or a quilt or blanket. The staff were rude, unresponsive, and seemed uninterested. Even asking for water or towels felt like begging, and room service took ages. The taps had no pressure, and the internet was only 2 Mbps, like dial-up. The approach road is narrow, dirty, and full of filth, with nothing pleasant nearby. It may look convenient on a map, but getting there felt like punishment. This was the worst stay I’ve had, with no cleanliness, comfort, or hospitality, and the price was far too high for it. I’d strongly recommend avoiding it.

The road to the hotel was full of potholes and broken sections, and felt unsafe, more like an off-road track than a hotel access road. Getting there was stressful. After check-in, the bed hygiene was just as upsetting: the beds hadn’t been cleaned properly, and there were lice on the bed. We couldn’t sleep and didn’t feel comfortable even sitting there. Finding lice points to poor housekeeping and no quality control, and it caused anxiety throughout our stay. This place fell short on basic hospitality, from the difficult access to the sanitation and living conditions. It was a waste of money and time. I’d advise people to avoid it until the sanitation and infrastructure improve.

Prasanti Sharma at reception was polite, professional, and helpful, and her warm, friendly manner made the stay more memorable. Room service was excellent too, quick, hygienic, and delivered with a smile. Every request was handled promptly, which made us comfortable and relaxed. I’d recommend Mount Amara Hotel & Spa for a pleasant stay in siliguri.

We’d already booked three rooms for a birthday party with friends, then one more friend decided to stay, so I went to reception to ask for an additional room. The staff member there was very rude and unprofessional, speaking to me disrespectfully and seeming not to know how to deal with guests. When I asked about an Executive Room, he said he “did not have access” and kept changing the rate. He first quoted around ₹2000, then said it would be ₹2500–₹3000 the next day, without explaining why. It was confusing and spoiled the experience. Staff should be clear, polite, and respectful, especially when guests already have rooms booked. I hope management looks into it and improves staff training in guest communication.

Even after four hours from check-in, we still had no towels, bedsheets, or blankets. Staff were indifferent and unprofessional, and basic requests took so long that it felt like asking for a favor. The room itself was dirty and stained, smelled strongly, and had a poorly maintained bathroom with a leak, no towels, and barely any ventilation. The taps had very low pressure, and the internet was barely usable at around 2.1 Kbps. The road in is narrow, filthy, and unpleasant, with nothing nearby and no easy access, peace, or view. Given the price, the experience was shocking. Poor facilities, cleanliness, and service made this one of my worst stays. Strongly advise avoiding it.
