Lemon Tree Hotel Srinagar

We had a very positive stay at the Lemon Tree Hotel in Srinagar and would definitely come back. The room was spacious, with the modern amenities we needed, and getting to the main road was easy because of the location. The food at Citrus Café was consistently tasty. The dining staff were professional, approachable, and attentive to what guests needed.

We booked three days through a travel service, but left after around three hours. After a four-hour drive, we arrived to find the central cooling switched off in 37-degree heat. We kept asking for the issue to be fixed, but staff continued telling us to use a table fan. We were traveling with our toddler, and those next three hours felt like a traveler’s nightmare. Staff refused to sort out the cooling and said things like other guests would object, or that if they turned on cooling now they’d have to switch to heating at night. They were charging 12000 per night. My toddler and I were stressed by the whole debacle, and we no longer trusted the staff, so we went to another hotel. Even though we’d been there for no more than three hours, the hotel and travel agent still offered only a partial refund. Don’t waste your time and money here. There are plenty of other places. Update, 17th May: If you were that concerned, you would have asked us to get in touch. You’ve already charged us for the stay, and this reply just seems like an attempt to keep up appearances.

I had a wonderful three-day stay in Srinagar overall, but the breakfast spread was below what I’ve had at other Lemon Tree branches. The room itself was decent. The bathrooms need renovation, though, because there was an unpleasant smell even after cleaning and sanitization. A few improvements would help the hotel meet the standard of Lemon Tree properties across India.

During our stay on 20th May, 2026, we found an insect with 12 legs, which I call Kankhajura, on the bed. At first, staff insisted there were no rooms available and wouldn’t move us. They eventually shifted us to a room on a floor without lift access, so we had to take the stairs at 10:15 PM. The staff were useless, uncooperative, and misleading instead of helping guests. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Useless property.
