Lily of Nageen

It’s a quaint, peaceful houseboat with all the basic amenities in place. We spent a few days there through both rainy and sunny weather, and it was memorable either way. The views over Nageen lake were exquisite in both kinds of weather. The houseboat is on the banks of the lake and you can reach it through a cute public garden. Being right on shore makes getting to land easy, without hiring a boat every time you need to commute. If you want a Shikara ride, one can be arranged, with the boat coming to pick you up at the main deck or balcony. You can also sit on the roof or deck and take in the scenery. It’s a big place, with a spacious living room, dining area, and two bedrooms with attached baths, so a big family could stay comfortably. We used one room, which could easily fit three people, and its windows opened straight onto the lake. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. Everyone treated us like family and looked after our needs. We had breakfast and dinner on the boat, and the dinners were impeccable, with a taste that still lingers in my memory. It was a memorable stay with no complaints. I’d like to thank all the hosts and owners for making it such a pleasure.

The food was the highlight of our short visit to Srinagar. The home-cooked meals were the best we had, and the hospitality went beyond what we expected. Houseboat Lily of Nageen was cozy, calm, and serene, with a charming, elegant design and great facilities that kept us comfortable. It felt like a home away from home. We can’t wait to return, and highly recommend it.

The view of Nageen lake from the room was intimate, personal, and quiet, quite different from the other houseboats in Srinagar. Staying on this luxurious houseboat felt like a rare treasure, truly idyllic. The hosts were more than friendly.

The location is magical and peaceful, and the houseboat is beautifully decorated. Every room has an actual lake view, which is unusual among boats on Dal or Nigeen lakes. Breakfast was great, and they even fed us dinner a few times. The hospitality was beyond expectations, and all the staff were very helpful and eager to please whenever there was an issue.
