Hotel Sri Hayagriva

The rooms and amenities were good, and the food was amazing. Still, I'm very disappointed with how checkout was handled. We'd discussed a late checkout and were assured it was okay, but they charged us the full room rate despite our communications. Check the check-in and checkout times before booking. Customer satisfaction wasn't what we expected, and this is the one reason I strongly wouldn't recommend staying here.

The hotel's location and service were very good. The first room they gave us had a broken AC.

What I liked most was the peaceful little courtyard and the rooftop spot, where I could sit and relax after a busy temple visit. Breakfast was simple, fresh South Indian home-style food, just right for the morning. Hotel Sri Hayagriva in Srirangam is also very convenient for visiting the temple, just a short rickshaw ride away, which made our morning darshan easy and stress-free. Our room was clean, airy, comfortable, and straightforward, without fancy frills. The staff were friendly and quietly efficient, helped us out, and shared useful tips on local transport and the best time to visit. If you're used to a spa, high-end decor, or a big lobby, those luxury touches aren't here. But for a modest, well-run place focused on the basics, it suited us well. Good value for the location and service. I'd rate it 4 out of 5.

We ended up finding another hotel and leaving that night, and the manager kept insisting we stay in a different room and that the rooms weren't actually dirty. We agreed to pay for that night, and the owner refunded the next night. I won't stay here again. We've stayed a couple of times before because it's within walking distance of the temple and near our relatives. At the low price, it had generally been okay. This time, though, there seemed to be no maintenance. The room, especially the washroom, was in a horrible state. After we asked someone to clean it, they spent literally two minutes and left it still dirty. The bedsheet and pillow weren't clean, the bathmat was gross, and the wall paint was dirty.
