We could see the Sela Top mountains from our balcony, and the famous historic Tawang monastery was only a few minutes away on foot. The room was tidy and had the things we needed for Tawang's climate, including a geyser, heater, and heated beds. We stayed for two nights.

The meals were the highlight for me: breakfast, lunch, and dinner all came freshly cooked and piping hot, with that delicious home-cooked taste. The homestay itself was cozy and felt like home, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Appu served us with real warmth, and Chotto was just as attentive. They kept checking that we were comfortable and helped us move rooms and with anything else we needed, always smiling. I had a wonderful stay here.

We paid premium rates, but several basic things weren't working. There was no electricity for 2-3 hours in the cold, none of the room sockets worked, and the geyser didn't work either, so we had no hot water. The room we received also looked completely different from the one shown to us. It felt like we were being catfished. The lady owner was rude and defensive when we raised these problems, with little concern or accountability. She said, “Isliye Video banake rakha hai because aap logon ese hi karenge” and “aap log to line-hotel mai khana khate hai”. Breakfast was called complimentary, but there was very little of it and hardly any choice, so it felt like a formality. The North-East of India is attracting more visitors for its nature, culture, and quiet, and Tawang has a lot of tourism potential. Experiences like ours leave visitors disappointed and reluctant to recommend a stay. This place needs better maintenance, facilities, management, and hospitality. From Koushik Family

The home-cooked food was delicious, and the staff were so kind and generous. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and kept neat and clean. We had a wonderful time here.

I was nervous to book after reading some of the comments, but after staying here I feel I made the best choice. The staff are so friendly, and the owner feels like family. I'd never stayed in this kind of homestay before. I did have a bit of trouble with the network, but it didn't bother me since I wasn't expecting great reception in the hills. Lots of love to the aunty. ♥️
