The location is the standout, by the river and away from the city. The permanent tent accommodation was okay, though it could have been cleaner. The manager was very good, service excellent, and the food good, with non-veg available. Try the chicken dry fry. Some dishes are expensive, but given the location the prices seem justified. Check the menu prices before ordering so the bill doesn’t come as a shock.
We were the only guests when we arrived, even though we’d booked the tent for two nights at short notice. I paid 2k per night, which felt costly to me. Still, the camp was worth it for me: the Alaknanda river was just 10m from our tent, the service was good, and the food was really tasty. Mr. Rajan and Mr. Vikas were both welcoming, and it felt like home. As a bird photographer, I also spotted many different bird species in the morning.
The place looks good in its pictures and on the website, but it isn't properly managed. When my friends and I got there, there was no attendant, no staff, and nothing was in order. A horrible experience. Never visit this place.
It was my first time in a new city, so I was worried about finding a hotel. This one turned out to be good, and I really liked it. You should visit, you'll like it too.
It’s right by the highway but away from the noise, with a superb view of the river and mountains and access to the riverbank.
