I regret booking a Suite at Hotel Sumi Palace through MMT for Wednesday (19/11/2025) to Saturday (22/11/2025). After paying ₹500 extra for a 7:00 AM early check-in instead of MMT's standard 12:00 PM, there was no hot water. It was November during the rainy season and freezing cold. I had to keep asking, then ended up bathing in cold water. What's the point of a Suite if you freeze in the shower? After checking out at 10:00 AM Saturday, my 1:00 PM bus was cancelled and the next one wasn't until 8:00 PM. I called to ask for a room for a few hours, from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM. First they said there were no rooms, then they suddenly found a Non-AC room for ₹1000. The woman at reception was shockingly rude when I asked about it. Instead of helping a returning guest, she snapped, "If you have interest take the room, don't argue". The staff showed no respect for customers. A nightmare stay, and I wouldn't stay here if I wanted peace of mind.

We arrived at Hotel Sumi Palace, Thanjavur at about 4:00 AM and were turned away because staff said no rooms were available. We'd booked and prepaid for three hours, and the reservation, Booking ID - HR1381076, had been confirmed by both email and WhatsApp. The booking confirmation and tax receipt show that the hotel failed to honor the reservation. We had to search for nearly two hours in an unfamiliar, unsafe area before finding somewhere else, at a significantly higher cost. The prepaid amount still hasn't been refunded. This was highly unprofessional and misleading, and the lack of a refund seems unethical and deceptive. I strongly advise against relying on this hotel.

The room was clean, well maintained, and decently furnished, with a small fridge. The price was reasonable, and booking went smoothly. Reception service was very good. It's just 4 kms from the Railway Station, though anyone in a roadside room may hear traffic.
