RBS Residency

Room 203 was an awful experience, one of the filthiest places we’ve stayed. The room size was acceptable and the bed was the only clean spot. Dust and dirt covered all the surfaces, and I cleaned them myself because I couldn’t stand it. Both towels had dirt and rust stains. When I asked for fresh ones, the receptionist resisted changing both, and only replaced them after I insisted we wouldn’t accept the stained ones. The bathroom mirror was stained, the fixtures were in poor condition and rusty, and the toilet was disgusting and clearly not cleaned properly. Cleanliness and maintenance were badly lacking. At arrival, the receptionist also demanded payment for the entire stay and said the receipt would come at departure. After I refused that arrangement, a receipt was issued. We’ve traveled in India many times and, luckily, never encountered somewhere this filthy.

I booked two rooms at RBS Residency for one night, Room 305 and Room 308. The stay was average: 305 was decent and had a good bathroom, but 308’s bathroom was very dark with poor lighting. I saw three or four small warm-like insects (“kana kadi”) in that bathroom, and the toilet hygiene could have been better. They didn’t provide basic items such as a kettle, tea cups, or glasses, which was inconvenient. The staff were polite, but for ₹3,766 for two rooms I expected better facilities and cleanliness. The property needs maintenance and better hygiene standards.

I left my hoodie jacket in the wardrobe after a two-day stay. When I called, the hotel confirmed they had it, and I offered to pay for courier delivery to my address. A week has passed and they still haven't sent it. Each time I follow up, I get another excuse. Really poor service.

RBS Residency was a pleasant place to stay while we were visiting Trichy. The rooms were roomy, clean, and looked well cared for. It was also easy to find, with major attractions nearby.
