Velan Hotel Greenfields

I went to the place for a Clothing Expo. It's quite nice and easy to get to in Thiruppur, and should be considered for Big Events.

The staff were good, and the rooms were clean and neat. There's good parking, it's easy to find, and hot water is available around the clock, which helps a tired traveller. The traditional Kerala feel at the spa was good, and the swimming pool was nice. The space is good in Tirupur, and the stay is worth it, but the food quality needs to improve. Having to compromise on the food was disappointing.

The pool view was very good, and the rooms are spacious. The hotel has an English-style contemporary design. It's getting old, but still looks good. I saw very few staff and guests, which I feel reflects Tiruppur's economy. I didn't try the restaurant, though the food is priced very high. Even after we called and reminded them about our booking, my room wasn't ready. The balcony was dusty, as Tiruppur is naturally a windy, dusty town. I'd rate it 4 stars.

The staff were really welcoming, and the cleanliness deserves five stars. Still, the service and rates are a costly combination. I had to wait even for a bottle of water, and the food wasn't good. At times I also found it uncovered. For a budget room costing 2600 per day, it felt like a real waste of money, especially since not even 50 percentage of the room was full. Overall, not okay.
