Hotel Vinayakam

The price and central location are about the only things in this hotel's favor. The photos on the OYO site and elsewhere look altered and don't resemble the actual place. It's an old building with lots of empty rooms, and it can feel spooky when you seem to be the only guest. I wouldn't suggest it for couples. Maybe it works for a big group looking for a cheap stay, or for solo men and groups of men. I stayed two days because I'd paid before properly inspecting the rooms, and there was no refund or cancellation option. I looked at eight rooms before settling on one, mostly because I was tired of looking. Even the best of those choices was disappointing. The rooms are basic, with little furniture and a TV. Luggage and clothes go on uncovered stone shelves. The sofas, tea table, and chair were dusty; the bathrooms smelled damp and had yellow stains. Staff sprayed room freshener to make them bearable, and the doors had no paint or polish. There's a pantry for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, but I ate outside instead. Since it's an OYO-managed hotel, the staff have limited authority and can only help as much as they're allowed. Check the room carefully before paying.

We had a confirmed booking, but the hotel still refused to give us a room. They'd handed it to someone else who paid more, then bluntly told us to do whatever we wanted. The owner's manner was rude and completely unprofessional. The worst experience, avoid this place.

The food was good and reasonably priced, but that was the one bright spot. The AC wasn't working, so the stay was uncomfortable, and the staff were rude and unhelpful when we needed help. The room itself was only average and not worth the hassle. I wouldn't recommend it if you want a comfortable stay.

The hotel's location is good, but I can't recommend the stay. I booked through Agoda and was charged half the total booking amount for early check-in. The room was just okay, and the service was very poor. They didn't provide towels or slippers, or ask about drinking water. The rooms don't seem suitable for families or couples, more for boys.
