The restaurant was a reliable part of the stay. I liked the Manchow soup, Paneer Chilli, and Hakka noodles, and the room came with two water bottles, glasses, soap, and three towels. The shower pressure was excellent, though the bathroom itself looked old, with an aging wooden door, black mold at the bottom, and piping visible through an open wall window. Getting around was easy: it was a five-minute walk to the bus stand and four minutes to Sri Krishna Math. The staff were especially kind, from the welcoming, informative receptionist to the helpful bellboys and restaurant servers. Check-in went smoothly, and extending the stay cost a fair ₹100 per hour. The room was a decent size, but the furniture and fittings felt dated. The ceiling fan was too far from the bed to cool me properly at night. The springy mattress and floppy pillows could use replacing, the blanket was only a thin sheet, and one pillowcase had a hole. A good option for a short one-day stay if location and service matter more to you than modern comforts.

We arrived with a confirmed Agoda reservation for an AC room at Hotel Sriram Residency, Udupi, but the check-in manager refused to honor it and asked us to pay extra, saying AC rooms cost more even though our booking stated otherwise. When we challenged the charge, the manager said inter-religion couples were not allowed to stay there. That was shocking and discriminatory, and no such policy had been listed on Agoda or told to us when we booked. Refusing a confirmed booking and denying accommodation on religious grounds shows very poor hospitality. One of the worst hotel experiences we have had. I’d urge future travelers to be cautious about booking here.

Our two-day Agoda booking started badly: the non-AC room on the eighth floor had bed bugs. They moved us to a better room later, but that first room left a poor impression. Check the room before settling in. The hotel is very near other hotels and Krishna mutt.

We paid 2650 after booking online, which was cheaper than booking directly with the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the price felt worthwhile. Shri Krishna Temple is close enough to walk to.

The basement parking is a little tight because of the pillars, but manageable if you maneuver carefully. At check-in, service was attentive; by checkout, staff seemed much less concerned and didn’t bring complimentary water even an hour before we left. The bathroom commode has a handle instead of a regular flush tank, and using it felt intimidating and unreliable.
