Prices are reasonable, so it's a good budget option for devotees visiting Mahakal. Hotel Sundaram Palace is conveniently located around 250 meters from . We had a pleasant stay, with good service and well-behaved staff.
The location is the only good thing here. Drinking water wasn't available, the intercom and TV didn't work, there was no hot water or room service, and the room service staff were very rude. I wouldn't bring family here or stay here again. Find a dharmshala instead.
The hotel's location is a strong point if you're arriving by train, since the railway station is barely five minutes away. The owner was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, and deserves a 10/10 as a host. The staff, though, were often inattentive to details and slow to respond, even to small requests, which brought down my stay. If they became more responsive, this could be a top choice for travelers in Ujjain. My experience at Hotel Sundaram Palace was mixed.
The lift wasn't working properly, and they gave us just one towel for two people. Staff behaved very rudely and seemed not to know how to speak to customers. The service and hospitality were pathetic.
Pathetic stay. They charged 2.5k for the room and didn't even include complimentary water.
