Best Western Alkapuri, Vadodara

Breakfast was decent, and some staff were friendly, though others came across as a bit crude. The rooms are cramped and poorly maintained, with peeling paint, a smelly washroom, and a broken, leaking toilet spray. There’s no view either, since the opaque windows block it completely. It’s a 20-minute walk from the railway station along a poor route. I could manage one night, but I’d avoid it next time.

The only good part of my stay was the breakfast in the morning. The rooms look old and aren’t maintained well, and there were problems with the WiFi, keys, and washrooms. Basic toiletries weren’t provided, and the furniture inside was poorly kept and smelled. I could put up with one night, but it’s not suitable for a longer stay.

The food was good, but the rest of the stay was a very bad experience. WiFi was an issue every day, and the response to requests was poor. Basic room service could be delayed by 2-4 hours, sometimes for the whole day, so we had to keep calling to remind them about small things. For our 1.5 year baby’s bath, we asked for a bucket and mug. After three calls they brought a dirty bucket that looked like it was used for mopping. We complained, but they refused to bring another one. They also didn’t have moisturizer, and the basic toiletries weren’t complete at check-in. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Dinner at Best Western was disappointing for our group of 12. The food took a very long time to arrive, and the staff’s manner and expressions made us uncomfortable. They weren’t courteous when serving, and the coordination and hospitality you’d expect for a group just weren’t there. I wouldn’t recommend it as a dining experience.
