Magnet Hotel

The rooms look nice, the food is good, and the bathrooms were very clean. The staff's attitude was the main problem, especially at the front desk. Restaurant staff were still okay, but nobody seemed to smile and it felt like we were bothering them. We arrived at night with two small kids, but no one helped with the luggage or showed us to the lift or room. Check-out was much the same. Kannur is known for hospitality, so I didn't expect this kind of behavior from the front office staff.

The Magnet Hotel is a reliable mid-range place for a business trip or quick stopover, as long as you aren't expecting a luxury resort. Its peaceful location is a short drive from the town center and beach. The modern rooms are very clean, though a bit cramped if you have lots of luggage. Service is generally friendly, but room service can sometimes be slow. Breakfast is an okay buffet, mostly South Indian options like idli and dosa. The food tastes fresh and homely, but there's limited variety if you stay more than a couple of days, and mornings can get crowded.

Getting transport for sightseeing was easy from this well located hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, neat, and hygienic, and the food was delicious. At reception, Vishnu and Sarita were very courteous and helpful. Sarita even guided us on all the local visits. A very good hotel for a stay in Kannur.

We held our engagement party in the Pavilion Hall, and the whole event went smoothly. The hall was elegant and well maintained, a lovely setting for the celebration. Our guests had great compliments for the delicious food. Service was prompt, and the staff stayed courteous, supportive, and cooperative throughout. They exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for special occasions.
