It was easy to get out for sunrise boat rides and the early morning Ganga Aarti, and the Ganges, old temples, street food, and markets were all close by. The homestay is about a Km from Dashashwamedh Ghat and the busy old city lanes, so the location made exploring Varanasi simple. Even with the city right there, it stayed surprisingly quiet, a good place to rest after a day out. I was welcomed warmly and felt at home from the start. The rooms were clean and looked after, with local touches that suited Varanasi. It was one of the best parts of my trip, and felt like an authentic local experience for a solo traveler, couple, or family. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the city.

Be very cautious when booking with this owner. He doesn’t stick to the deal and may ask for more money at the last minute, otherwise there’s no booking. I found him greedy, untrustworthy, unreliable, and unprofessional.
