Hotel Rahil Palace

We paid 50% of the charges for an online booking, but the hotel cancelled it without giving any valid reason.

We visited with family and had a very good experience. The room was small but clean, and hot water was available for showers. Staff were polite and helpful, including arranging an early check-in, and the food was tasty. It's in the heart of Varanasi, about 2-3 KM from all the notable places.

The room service was the one good part. Otherwise, this stay was a letdown: no breakfast or bottled water included, no tea bags or basic supplies, and the road into the hotel wasn't proper. We paid 6400rs for 2 days, and it just wasn't worth it. Overpriced.

The washroom was decent and did its job, but the rest of our stay at hotel Rahil Palace left us disappointed. Our room for three felt cramped, and fitting an extra bed on the floor was difficult. None of the rooms had windows to the outside. The windows visible in the online front view were only along an open corridor, so we kept the entrance door half open during the day to avoid feeling suffocated. At night in November we used the air conditioning even though it wasn't really needed. There was no restaurant in the hotel itself. They arranged room service from their nearby restaurant, where the food was average and expensive for the quality. Housekeeping fell short, and the room service boys seemed poorly trained, untidy, and inconsistent, with little basic etiquette. The TV only had local and Hindi channels, and reception said those were all they offered when we asked about the regional channels we wanted. The online view had led me to expect a good outlook from a front facing room, so that assumption was wrong. I didn't feel the stay was worth what I paid.
