Ashiyana Cliff & Beach Resort by Onespace

The one real plus was the location, close to the cliff and beach. Beyond that, our stay at Ashiyana Cliff And Beach was well below average. We were there for our wedding anniversary, in room Number 3, and the property didn't feel properly managed or safe. The room itself was okay, but the balcony sofa set was filthy and in terrible shape. The ditch was overflowing badly, there was no TV, and during the rainy weather we had to sleep with insects in the room. When we asked for the room to be cleaned, staff first refused and said cleaning only happened at checkout time. They agreed only after we asked repeatedly, which made for a very poor experience. Service was the biggest problem. It was nearly impossible to find anyone at reception during the day. At around 8 pm, one person would show up, play songs or games on his phone, then sleep on the sofa outside. Directions were poor too. Google Maps may send you to the resort's back gate, which is permanently closed, and even by phone nobody gave us proper directions. The canteen is open only from 9 am to 3 pm, so you have to wait until 9 even for morning coffee. Breakfast was dosa and coffee, which tasted okay, but the chutney seemed to have been made the day before and was served very cold. One girl was handling food preparation for all the guests, and the service clearly suffered. The clean rooms and location are positives, but communication, maintenance, service, and guest handling need major improvement.
