Cliff House Homestay

I left the next morning after just one night because there were no facilities and the owner Ashokan was extremely rude. The sheets had ants crawling on them and hadn’t been changed, and the room had been made up again anyway. There was no blanket for the AC room. When I asked, he was very reluctant and gave me one thin single bedspread. There was only one plug point, and they switched off the room's main supply when we were away, so there was no way to charge anything. He hadn't clearly told us checkout was at 10 am, then knocked after 9 45 am and asked us to leave. He seemed concerned only with money. No value for 1700, you can get better rooms on the cliff with good amenities.

I stayed 25 nights in an AC room. The guy running the place was friendly, and it was very clean. I liked relaxing on the shared balcony in the sea breeze. It’s close to everything and a good price compared to the rest of the cliff.

The rooms were clean, but the homeowners' attitude toward women was very bad, and the reception we got was horrible. We booked the place 2 weeks prior to New year's eve, then called to share our arrival time. They rudely said we hadn't booked. We had to convince them to check again before they confirmed it. They also collected extra money as an online compensation fee that wasn't mentioned in the email we received. Because of how they treated us, I wouldn't recommend this place to any Indian female travellers.

Bad customer service and irresponsible behaviour.
