Molly's Hostel

I meant to stay three days at Molly’s Hostel and ended up there for a full week, wishing I could stay longer. The ocean was always nearby, and the days seemed to unfold at their own pace. It’s a warm, open, relaxed place, with a lovely balance of social energy and peaceful calm. People start out as strangers, then become acquaintances and quickly friends; conversations and connections feel genuine. I call that the Molly Effect: arriving with plans and leaving with a full heart. Thank you to the guests and staff who shared this experience. This is more than a hostel, it’s a feeling I’ll carry with me. Highly recommended.

The staff were very helpful in showing us places and explaining other services. The hostel itself was comfortable and clean. But the mosque is right beside it, and during ramdan prayer we were kept awake much of the time because prayers took place during peak resting hours. We already had bookings and trip plans and couldn’t find another place, so cancelling wasn’t really an option and we felt stuck with the noise. I wish the hostel had told guests about the ramdan prayer situation before our dates. Visitors might want to avoid staying there during ramdan. Thank you to the staff for their other help.

The location, people, and vibe at Molly's were all 100/10. Rooms and bathrooms are tidy and clean, and the staff and volunteers work hard to make your stay comfortable. I left with a full heart and lots of wonderful, wholesome memories. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Varkala :)

The Non AC Private Room suited me perfectly: it gave me space to relax while still being part of a social hostel, where I met interesting people from around the world each day. Molly's has such a welcoming atmosphere, and the team makes sure people feel at home. The food is really nice and very reasonably priced too. Thanks, Team Molly, for an incredible stay. I hope to come back soon!
