Woodhouse Beach Resort

Sherin made us feel so welcome and helped us throughout the trip. We could walk straight from the property to Black Beach, which made the visit feel extra special. The Kerala food cooked there was tasty and reminded us of home. Sherin also arranged a scooty and pointed us toward nice places around Varkala. One of our best stays, highly recommended! 🌴✨

The room was noisy and badly maintained, and the price felt completely out of line with what we got. It was dirty from the start, with sheets that looked unwashed and a bathroom that smelled foul and felt unhygienic. Some basic amenities were missing or didn’t work. Staff were rude and unhelpful, ignoring complaints and making excuses when we asked for help. There was no hospitality, and I felt so uncomfortable that I regretted booking. Cleanliness, comfort, and service were all below average. I strongly wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Save your money and find somewhere else.

The manager was especially friendly and helped us a lot, and all the staff made us feel welcome. The rooms were nice, and everything about the stay felt smooth and comfortable. I was really satisfied and would recommend this resort to anyone. If I come to varkala again, I’m DEFINITELY staying here.

The staff behavior and the location were both worthy of five stars, but the room situation was really unpleasant. We had booked a Sea Frontage room and were given room number 201, the first room at the resort entrance, with only a chandelier in front of it. When we raised the issue, they said, "If you exit and turn left, there's only sea."
