Hotel Marg Krishnaaya

I only went to visit a friend who was staying there, but the room was dirty and smelled bad. There wasn’t a drinking glass in the room, and they refused to give an empty one, saying guests might use it for liquor brought from outside. Service was very poor. After four or five reminder calls, they finally brought water 45 minutes later. A terrible experience.

I stayed here for about two weeks last year, and so much has changed in the past year. The rooms are old and poorly maintained, and the bathrooms need an overhaul, starting with a basic replacement like the commode. I asked for moisturizer and was told they didn’t have any. The property could be a good place with an efficient team looking after it, but it feels as if nobody cares about its upkeep. The reception staff need training in basic courtesy. The restaurant in-charge was impolite and barely listened to feedback. When I asked for the manager, they said he arrives late and wasn’t available. Even at 8AM, many buffet items weren’t ready. At first the hotel refused to let me bring food from outside, then later allowed it. Guests shouldn’t be forced to eat at the hotel restaurant. It was a very bad experience, and I’ll think twice before staying again. What a pity.

The location is super convenient, very close to Benz Circle and handy for business travellers who don’t want much travel for work. Staff were courteous, and there was a good South Indian breakfast spread. It’s good value for money, as long as you keep your expectations in check.

They moved me to the other side when I asked, since the roadside rooms are noisy. The staff are courteous, but they need training. Housekeeping and room service staff are polite but don’t seem to know the standards. The food is good, though staff just stand around instead of serving, and sometimes it’s hard to tell whether a pot has coffee or tea. Wi-Fi is very bad. With staff training, this could be a great value for the money and wouldn’t take much to improve.
