The host was friendly, and the beds were comfortable. The suite had the hotel basics we expected, including towels, soap, and a kitchen.

The rooms felt cozy, and the bed was comfortable. It’s right in Akranes. I had a great stay and would come back if I return.

There are two bathrooms in the house, and the rooms were clean. Getting to the floor with the rooms means climbing steep stairs. The beds were okay, though the mattress was very soft. Guests share a small refrigerator, and having three towels provided was a big plus.

Melur Guesthouse is close to Leboskin café, Akrafjall, and Akranes Lighthouse, and it’s the cheapest guesthouse in Akranes. Breakfast was free, and checkout was at 12:00. The host seemed like a typical Icelander and was quite nice, though I barely spoke with him because I was exhausted after a long hike at Akrafjall. From the outside it isn’t flashy, but inside the rooms are clean, pleasant, and simple.
