The breakfast was superb, and the prices were excellent for the quality. The staff were extremely kind, and they welcomed us without any trouble when my partner and I showed up unexpectedly with nowhere to stay because all the campsites were closed. We were lucky to discover this place. It has a stunning fjord view, and they gave us a truly beautiful room with a unique style. I'd stay here a thousand times over. A guarantee!

Frederick Theresa and Anna were exceptional hosts, and the staff at Hotel Glymur were a big reason we had such a great first visit to Iceland. I looked forward to breakfast every morning, especially the range of bakery items. We celebrated our engagement here, with gorgeous sea views from the fabulous rooms. On our first day, we saw the most beautiful northern lights while relaxing in the hot tubs.

Hotel Glymur was our favorite place to stay in Iceland, and the whole visit felt perfect. The atmosphere was relaxing, the rooms were clean, and the staff were super friendly. Both hot tubs were nice and hot, while the other one was a bit less hot and had a beautiful view. The food was really good and a good deal too. Like at many places here, the hot water smells of sulfur. You get used to it, it's considered safe, and you won't smell like it afterward.

One of the coolest hotels I've stayed at in Iceland, about an hour north of the capital. The staff were unreal and breakfast was great. It's also a great place for northern lights, and well placed for Hvammsvik Hot Springs, across the lake or a 27-minute drive away. For groceries at Bonus, Akranes is 25 minutes away.
