Ásar guesthouse

The guesthouse is beautifully decorated, and breakfast gave us a great start to the day. Everything went smoothly, and our hosts were lovely. This was our best experience in Iceland. Highly recommended!

We spent five nights here on our honeymoon and were so glad we came back. Ásar Guesthouse had been our favorite stop on our first Ring Road trip a few years earlier, so we returned for a second visit. Over coffee, we enjoyed hearing from the hosts about everyday life in Iceland. The hot tub was a great way to relax after busy days, and the location worked well for nearby attractions and day trips. Our room and the shared areas were comfortable and spotless, and the fresh homemade breakfast each morning was beautifully put together. Thanks for such a lovely stay. We hope to meet again!

We spent three lovely days at Ásar Guesthouse. It was easy to head into Akureyri for dinner or the Botanic Gardens, and the location also worked well for outings in any direction. Breakfast was generous and beautifully presented. Highly recommend!

We only stayed one night, but the guesthouse was stunning. The owner has put so much care into the interior, with embroidery, crocheted cushions, and a lovely maximalist cottagecore look. The mattress was wonderfully soft, and I’d recommend the hot tub too. It’s open until 10 pm, I hope, and has a beautiful view. Breakfast may have been the best I’ve ever had: little dessert glasses, homemade bread and jams, and lemon curd. Delicious. The place is near Akureyri airport and easy to spot from the road. The owner sets a very high standard.
