That last day in Iceland was supposed to be for exploring, but we ended up staying in the villa instead. The sea views from the hot tub made it an easy choice, and it was a lovely way to finish the trip. We’d booked Bay View Apartment and Villa mainly for its convenient spot near Keflavík Airport, expecting just a practical last-night stay. The multilevel villa turned out to be one of the highlights of our whole trip. It’s beautifully designed, with uninterrupted views and thoughtful touches throughout. The kitchen had everything we needed, and little extras like bedside wireless chargers, a water feature by the window, and a wine chiller with bottles available to buy made it feel special. There’s also a big TV for relaxing indoors.

We found this a great place to slow down, whether you’re staying for a night or a week. There’s a full kitchen, two showers, laundry, and a hot tub facing the water, plus the kitchen has herbs and spices and a wine fridge with bottles to buy. Getting here is straightforward, about 20 minutes from the airport, and there are a few parking spaces if you’re driving. A small grocery store with what you need is around a five-minute walk away. The people running the place were really helpful and kept in touch. If you’re looking to stay outside Reykjavik, I’d happily recommend it.

Clean, comfy, and stocked with coffee, tea, laundry soap, and everything else you could want. The hot tub comes with northern lights views, too. What a spot.

The quiet view from the hot tub was my favorite part. The apartment was lovely, and the host was so helpful and service minded. We booked directly through Bay View Apartments, which worked out really well. I’d happily stay again if I get the chance.
