We saw the northern lights from our bedroom window, which was a real treat. This was our first night on the Iceland trip, and it was an easy drive from the airport. The location was great, the rooms were lovely, and the shower was excellent. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional with great service, and breakfast had a good range of choices.

The receptionist was very polite and reminded me to look out for the northern lights, which meant a lot during the trip. We had an excellent breakfast and got to see the incredible lights. Hotel Geysir sits directly across from the iconic Strokkur geyser. Its warm wood and large glass windows bring the Icelandic landscape into a modern, beautiful design. Staying there felt like an unforgettable experience of Iceland's raw beauty.

Dinner at the restaurant was very good, and breakfast was solid. The room price felt acceptable, and the bed was extremely soft, with an extra topper, which gave us back discomfort. Keep that in mind if you prefer a firmer mattress. From outside, Geysir Hotel looks stunning, and the lobby and public areas are beautifully designed with a high-end feel. We were kindly upgraded to a spacious Deluxe Room, but the experience inside felt more mixed. The large bathroom seemed underused. The room description promised a bathtub, but there was no separate shower, which felt dated for this price range, especially with enough room for both. Amenities were very sparse, just a basic soap dispenser at the sink, with no body lotion, hand cream, or other bathroom items. In Iceland's dry climate, I noticed this more than at any other hotel on our trip. There were no slippers, bathrobes, or personal-use mini fridge either. For a hotel of around 77 rooms, the lack of facilities was surprising. There was no spa, gym, or sauna, even though small places in Iceland often have at least a sauna. Once the Geysir site closes around 18:00 and dinner is over, there's very little to do at the hotel. The design and restaurant are lovely, but the room amenities and missing wellness facilities made it feel more mid-range than luxury. Bring your own body lotion if you stay.

A modern hotel that feels like a fortress, right across the street from the geysir. The rooms are spacious and the restaurant is good. We stayed here the night after the glacier tours, and saw the northern lights from the front door.

We recently stayed here as a couple, and I loved how elegant the hotel felt. It's perfectly placed on the Golden Circle. The breakfast, dinner, and bar were fantastic, and the staff were amazing. I also found the laundry service really convenient.
