We stayed two nights during our two-week trip around Iceland, and the dinners here were probably the best of the whole vacation, maybe the cheapest too. We ended up eating here both evenings, and the price was very fair. Breakfast was included and really good as well. Uxi was a wonderful host and a great chef. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Hella turned out to be a handy base for day trips along Iceland's south coast, with the waterfalls and iceberg lagoons off the Golden Circle within driving distance. We booked this place on a whim, and it was the happiest accident. Uxi is a fun young guy, a great host, and also a professional chef and restaurateur. We managed to eat every meal we could there during our two nights, two dinners and two breakfasts, and it was the best food we had in Iceland. I'd stay here even if you aren't doing the full Highway 1 loop. I expected a good guest house from the reviews, but the food and Uxi were a very welcome surprise. Hella is pronounced Hetla.

My wife and I stayed for just one night this time, which was a shame because it's a very good guest house. The price included breakfast and dinner, and we liked the clean room, comfortable bed, and the owner's personality. I'd definitely want to stay here again on a future trip to Iceland.
