Hrifunes Guesthouse

Everything was well organized, and we felt welcome throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. The accommodation was comfortable and well maintained, with a high overall standard. The location is excellent too. We had a wonderful experience, would definitely recommend it, and would be glad to return.

Our beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The room for four was in the same building as the shared kitchen, so the only noise came when people went in to use it. There was no wait for the two bathrooms shared by six people, one was huge and the other tiny. The kitchen had hot water and a microwave, but the stove wasn't available to guests, so we just made instant noodles for dinner. Breakfast was a generous spread of bread and toppings, three kinds of skyr, ham, cheese, coffee, and juice. The banana bread was really, really good, and there were cookies to snack on too.

The room had a kettle for tea and coffee, and breakfast was good and thoughtfully prepared. Since there isn't a restaurant nearby, we heated a microwave meal in the communal kitchen. The place is clean, the WiFi is fast, and the workers are nice. It's a peaceful, secluded spot with what you need for a quaint stay. A couple of things weren't for me: the shower floor was made of rock, and the pillow was very flat. Tourist buses stop by, and the groups can get loud, though we couldn't hear them inside.

The shower was the only decent part of our stay. Breakfast was just cold cuts, and the coffee machine was broken. Strangers parked right in front of the window, blocking the view. For somewhere so remote, I expected peace, but we were disturbed at all hours of the night. The beds were extremely uncomfortable.
