The cottage had loads of thoughtful extras, from the record player and games to curtains that pull down over the doors and windows for privacy. We played some records and picked up pizza from the great local spot Olverk. The owners were lovely and made the place feel welcoming. It was spotless, the beds and even the sofa bed were comfortable, and the heated floors were a treat. There’s also a washer and dryer, hot tub, sauna, and fire pit. We only stayed one night and wished we had longer.

We spent a few days in the Blue House, a really cozy cottage with everything we needed and then some. The beds were comfy, and the heated floor, laundry facilities, hot bath, and sauna made the stay even nicer. A lovely place.

Eva was so sweet and accommodating. We were able to see the Northern Lights from this charming cottage, which was just the right size for three and very comfortable. It’s also well placed for the Golden Circle, with all the amenities we wanted, including a hot tub and laundry room. I’d happily recommend it.

The Turquoise House was a cozy, welcoming spot to come back to after spending the day outside in the Icelandic winter. We had a wonderful stay at the Backyard Village and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland.

The beds were comfortable, and so was the shower. With a washer, dryer, hot tub, and sauna, this seems like a good place for a longer stay. The woman who welcomed us was very friendly and took time to explain everything. The kitchen worked well for cooking, but it really needs non-stick pans. Even eggs stuck badly and were hard to clean off.
