Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik Keflavik Airport

The room view was the part that made this stay unforgettable: I could watch a volcanic eruption in the distance, a rare and surreal sight. The restaurant was another highlight, with excellent food, great flavors, and welcoming service, just as other guests have mentioned. Courtyard Reykjavik Keflavik Airport is modern, clean, and conveniently close to the airport. My room was comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A memorable mix of comfort, good food, and Iceland’s natural scenery.

That carbonara was rich, full of flavor, and honestly one of the best I’ve had. Sitting at the bar was great too, with a lovely atmosphere. Dawid and Igor made the evening especially enjoyable through their warm, positive hospitality. You can tell they take pride in looking after guests. Igor, the supervisor, and Dawid, our waiter, were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout, and made us feel comfortable from the start. I enjoyed every minute and would come back. Huge compliments to both of them.

The last-minute move meant we lost the airport shuttle we had planned to use, so we had to pay extra for a taxi. The front desk said to email the receipt for compensation. I sent it last week and still haven’t had any reply. When I asked why we were being moved, I got no direct answer. I booked in March, then was told just one week before the trip that we had to stay at another hotel because of overbooking. The email announcing this went to more than 20 guests with everyone’s email addresses visible, which made us very uncomfortable and felt like a serious privacy breach. Even after receiving a “Welcome” email the day before arrival, the front desk still sent us elsewhere at check-in and said our booking was non-refundable. You may be moved to another hotel at the last minute and left covering extra taxi costs yourself. Think twice before booking.

Our airline cancelled the flight, so we booked this motel at the last minute. The staff held our bags and got us into rooms quickly, so we didn’t have to sit in the lobby all day. It’s very close to the airport, and the modern rooms were clean. Excellent service.
