We found the owners really accommodating, and the hostel was well stocked. My family and I booked it to split a longer drive into shorter stretches. The hot tubs were great! 😃

We really enjoyed our two nights here. The room had three beds just for me and my two friends, which made the stay much more pleasant. It’s a small hostel, so it didn’t feel crowded, and the shared kitchen and bathroom were clean. They also provided shower towels. We never met the staff, but check-in and checkout went smoothly. There was only one phone charging plug in our room, which might be awkward for people sharing with strangers. The nearby town is quiet, so you need to plan ahead and bring breakfast and snacks, though that didn’t bother us. The hostel is fairly close to the remote West Fjords, one of our favorite parts of Iceland, but far from the main tourist areas. It was the best hostel experience we had in Iceland.

The village is tiny, with no restaurants, and its only shop is open weekdays from 10-18. The hostel itself was excellent: clean, spacious, and equipped with a huge common area, including a kitchen, living room, and dining room. There’s free coffee, and the owner is involved, which really shows, unlike places we’ve experienced all over Iceland. Recommended.

The kitchen was great for cooking, with two fridges, lots of tools, and two big tables for meals. There’s also a separate room to relax in, with rock music at night, a really nice touch 🎶👨🎤. I stayed with my partner and we were very happy overall. The room was okay, nothing special, but it had an unpleasant smell that made it uncomfortable, and that’s why I’m giving four stars. There are two WCs with good showers, plus a lovely outdoor hot pot with a small table where we enjoyed coffee and the views. Our experience was very good in general!

The hosts were extremely kind and welcoming. This brand new hostel is just off the main road as you enter the village, and it’s clean and spacious, with furnishings that mostly look new. The kitchen has everything you’d need. There are sinks in the private and family bedrooms, along with several bathrooms. Dorms are downstairs in the basement, while the private bedrooms are on the bright main floor with great views.
