Hotel Borg by Keahotels

Hotel Borg is right in central Reykjavik, close to restaurants and grocery stores. Breakfast was plentiful and very good, and I liked the traditional Icelandic foods with signs explaining them. The rooms are on the small side but okay in size. They get quite warm, with no AC, and you can open the balcony doors, though there are no screens. I had no problems with my room, but the couple traveling with us had to switch rooms twice, once because of a strange smell in the room and once because the shower curtain smelled of mildew. There are only about four parking spots on the street outside, making it tricky to unload. Parking is available in the underground garage beneath city hall, a short walk away. I'd recommend using the Parka app.

Claudia was amazing with all our first day questions about Iceland. She gave us suggestions for restaurants, shops, and places to see the northern lights. The staff were super friendly, the location was great, and our hotel experience was really good. The rooms were lovely, clean, and well styled. We hope to visit again.

The Art Deco details give Borg Hotel a lot of charm, and the staff made us feel welcome and helped us throughout our stay. For our first trip to Reykjavík, being right in the city center and close to so many places was ideal. We’d happily stay here again.

We found it easy to get around from here, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. There was room along the street to unload our luggage, and the hotel suggested a couple of garages within walking distance, even in the fierce wind. Our room was clean and simple. The only annoyance was hearing other guests open and shut their doors through the thin walls.
