The apartment is right by the beach and Amalfi center, which made the location the best part for us. We stayed in the largest unit, with plenty of room for four people. Enrico was quick to answer on WhatsApp, helped us understand local public transport, and let us leave our bags both before check-in and after checkout. We had a great experience and would highly recommend it as a base for an Amalfi vacation.

The location is hard to beat, under two minutes on foot from both the city center and the beach. The apartment was fairly spacious, and the bed was comfortable. There was a small balcony, though its floor was a bit dirty. They also provided a clothes rack, an iron, and an ironing board, which was dusty. The restaurant next door served good food at reasonable prices. Service was the main letdown. Nobody was at reception when we arrived, and we had to leave a deposit, then collect it from the Aurora Hotel, a 10-15 minute walk away. It would have been much easier if the Aurora Residence had a receptionist. After checkout, we couldn’t leave our luggage at the apartment, so we had to take it to the partner hotel because we had nowhere secure to keep it. Carrying our suitcases there in the heat was a strain, and a shuttle would have helped. There was also an unpleasant smell from the bathroom fan. It was tolerable and not a major issue, but could be improved. On the second-to-last day, water dripped from the ceiling beside the sofa bed and got some of our toiletries damp. Even with these issues, I’d still recommend the accommodation if you don’t care much about service, since it’s so central.

A couple of changes would make the apartment more comfortable: a broom, thicker living-room curtains for anyone sleeping on the sofa bed, firmer pillows, and a replacement mattress for that sofa bed, which felt too soft and was perhaps the only thing that wasn’t very clean. The owner was kind and helpful, the apartment was clean when we arrived, and it was spacious and well kept. We also had free WiFi. The price felt more than fair for such a good location, right behind the Duomo. If you’re driving, plan ahead for parking. The owner can suggest useful partner parking or garage options.
