Villa Lara Hotel

The staff were very helpful, but the hotel was a long walk from mediocre restaurants, and because I have trouble walking, it was totally unsuitable for me. Its description as a few minutes' walk from the centre of Amalfi was misleading. We checked out early because of that misdescription, but the owners expected us to pay for the following night. We reluctantly agreed to 50%. Driving there means negotiating a very long, narrow road full of thousands of tourists. Parking at the hotel cost €35 a night. To get to the hotel itself there's a steep step, several flights of stairs, and a lift that takes almost a minute to rise. What a nightmare. This place isn't suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

Breakfast came with amazing views, and the location was perfect, further up Amalfi's main strip and just outside the busiest area. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, with food recommendations and information about local buses and ferries. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and had everything you need. I booked my own private transfer, but I'd contact the hotel before arranging transport, since they have good connections that may offer better rates.

The terraces were such a lovely spot for morning coffee, and the views are phenomenal. It’s an easy walk to the main beach, and our room was spacious. With just a few rooms, the place feels quiet and quaint. Tomas and Nello were so sweet and friendly. We loved staying here and would definitely book again!

Our family room was spacious, and the hotel is in a good location. There are only a few steps to manage at the hotel, with no long stair climb. The views are amazing, and Tommaso made mornings especially nice with great conversations and wonderful cappuccinos. Everyone working there during the day and night was friendly too.
