Ostello Palazzo Giustiniani

A few days before my trip, I got a strange message in Italian that I couldn't understand at the time. My booking was cancelled, so I thought it was just a confirmation. It was actually telling me to cancel the booking myself, apparently so the hostel wouldn't have to pay the cancellation fees. Now, with only a day to go before the trip, I have nowhere to stay.

Just right for location.

Breakfast was good, and the room and bathroom were clean. I was there for a training course and needed somewhere near Amelia for two days. The shower was a bit of a problem, splashing water everywhere because of limescale buildup, though it could be fixed. I used one of the other shared bathrooms instead, a little farther from my room. WiFi is available, but there's no reception in the rooms farthest from the reception area.

It's a hostel in a historic building, the former Amelia prison, with rooms made from the old cells. The hospitality was excellent, and the staff were always happy to suggest things to do locally. Recommended!
