Parking is right at the hotel, breakfast has plenty of choice and was excellent, and the price for what you get is hard to beat. Booking at short notice was easy. The modern rooms are equipped for business trips and quick stopovers, with air conditioning and a smart layout. They are quite small, so I wouldn’t choose them for a longer stay. Our air conditioning didn’t work, either. There are no EV chargers, and sound carries clearly from the hall and nearby rooms because the rooms aren’t well soundproofed.

Alan Hotel in Bologna, close to the airport, worked really well for a long layover. The host was welcoming, and the rest facilities were much appreciated. Breakfast was both excellent and reasonably priced at 10 euros. It deserves its 5 stars.

I spent 24 days at Alan and it felt warm and homely. The breakfast spread was lovely. There were too many insects, though, and no air conditioning, which was my one complaint. If you’re in the area, you should stay here.

The man at reception was friendly, and I think he may be the owner. We paid 175eur for one night, which is a lot, especially since the included breakfast wasn’t available at 6:00AM. When we asked, we got the reply, “We don't do sandwiches.” This is a transit hotel because it’s near the airport, not somewhere you’d choose for a 7 day holiday. With early flights, you’d expect breakfast to be available earlier, but apparently the owners don’t see it that way.

The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the service was great. It’s also a very quiet location. The price felt neither cheap nor expensive.
