Those views are stunning, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped and well kept. The apartments have charming decor, and the beds were comfortable with extra quilts. But we wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. Communication was seriously lacking. There were no instructions about what the owners expected from guests or how to use the appliances. We wiped surfaces, put trash in the receptacles, sorted what we thought was recyclable, and tidied up. When I told the owner we weren’t sure what to do with the trash and had separated items we thought were recyclable, he angrily pointed at three bins outside. Sorry, but I can’t read minds. The outside door to our apartment had a skeleton key and a rusty latch that barely reached the jamb. One kick could have opened it. The door wouldn’t stay closed unless locked, so we had to brace it with a chair. The common room and “staff only” rooms had bolt locks and keys, but the guest rooms didn’t. If keeping your belongings secure matters, this place isn’t for you. There was one toilet roll per bathroom, no matter how many people were staying or for how long, and no spares in the apartment. You had to ask the owner for more, and extra rolls cost money. We weren’t told to bring our own, either. Good luck finding toilet paper on a Sunday night in rural Tuscany. Hot water was hit and miss. Our downstairs bathroom had plenty, but the upstairs bathroom had none. Another apartment had no hot water in its kitchen. One unit’s fridge was broken, replaced with a tiny, noisy drinks fridge. When those guests asked to use the common kitchen fridge, the owner snapped that they had their own kitchen and didn’t need to use it. And don’t bother packing a swimsuit. The pool was drained, at least while we were there.
