The Nicolaus Hotel

The hotel's location was really convenient, and the staff were helpful, professional, and attentive throughout, without ever intruding. Check-in went smoothly, and everything was to a high standard from start to finish. We found the safety measures around the hotel thoughtful and a welcome surprise. Breakfast was excellent, and the room was cleaned and restocked well each day. A few things in the room could use an update, though it was comfortable overall. It was a first-class experience and a pleasure to stay here. We'd confidently recommend it for a special occasion.

The desk staff were great, and the breakfast buffet had a lot of choice. I was pretty happy with the hotel overall: the room had a large bed and workspace, and the bathroom worked well and had a bidet. It was clean and reasonably well equipped, though there was no iron and the balcony needed cleaning. The minibar was tiny, and the walls were thin enough that I heard too much from the neighboring room. Motorbikes made noise outside at night, which wasn't the hotel's fault. I didn't like seeing the local fish supplier wandering around the restaurant and picking at food with bare hands. The manager showed poor judgment there. Smoking right outside the main entrance was a shame, too. Without a car, you'll need taxis or the local buses, which are cheap and run regularly. There aren't many buses on public holidays.

The hotel is very modern and has impressive amenities, and the staff were helpful. It's out on the edge of Bari, but there are still nice restaurants and places to go nearby.

The hotel was modern, beautiful, and very clean, with parking and elevators. We were there for just one night, so we didn't get to use the spa or explore the whole property. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices. Our room was okay, but the bathroom was extremely cramped. I can't see how an overweight person could use the toilet comfortably, which was really disappointing. The location was too far from the old city for me. A taxi there cost around €25-30, so if that's your main destination, this may not suit you. I also wonder whether management assigns these rooms to people booking through discount sites like Expedia or booking.
