Casa Letizia

That book, “Déjà view: Bologna, Italy,” on the table was a lovely touch, and my wife was captivated by it. The apartment was roomy, comfortable, and in a great location. When we arrived, it was already spotless and welcoming, but our hostess still asked us to come back in about an hour so she could clean it. I couldn’t convince her it was already perfectly clean, so we went out. She was very nice and told us a little about herself and the apartment. We’d happily stay there again.

We ended up scrambling for another place after our booking was given to someone else, and the only option we found was uncomfortable, on the fourth floor with no elevator. I can’t recommend Casa Letizia, and we wouldn’t stay there on another Bologna trip. My husband had reserved it about two months ahead, and he and Letizia had exchanged a couple of emails. She had seemed keen for us to arrive. Then, about 17 days before the stay, our credit card number was stolen. Apparently Letizia had tried to charge that card around the same time. We quickly sent her our new card details and explained what had happened, but she’d already booked the room to someone else. I feel she should have contacted us, especially with more than two weeks still to go. That would have been courteous and professional.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe here. The apartment was lovely and clean, and the location was the best. The host was incredibly helpful and very, very nice.
