The apartment was in a handy spot, right across from a supermarket and between the centre and the main station. It didn’t look as up to date as the photos on the website, though. They left us fruit and snacks, which was a really nice touch. There were also condiments left by previous guests, but I wouldn’t use them. I found the moka pot dirty and tried cleaning it, then gave up. It looked like someone had heated milk in it and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned afterwards. Honestly gross. I’d just go to a coffee shop instead. We were in a two-storey apartment, and I’m not sure I’d choose one again. It looked good in the pictures but wasn’t practical. That’s a general issue with two-storey rooms, not unique to this place. Cleanliness was questionable, maybe 1 out of 5. The bathroom leaked, so after one shower there was water everywhere, and it had a strange smell. I’ve run into that in other places in Italy too. Since it isn’t a hotel, you’re expected to do the cleaning yourself. The apartment manager was very nice, though his English wasn’t great. He really tried to communicate and help us, and we found that texting worked best. Check-in and checkout were easy. The website’s customer service left me unimpressed. I called on the day I arrived in Italy and nobody answered. They’d failed to charge my card, then emailed asking for the number after I’d returned home. Before I left, I’d said I’d pay in person, and they told me the transaction had gone through. After I got back, they said it hadn’t. What a mess.

We were comfortable here, and the host was very friendly. We enjoyed our whole stay.

It had everything we needed for a city break, and the location was fantastic.

The location was ideal for exploring on foot. Cafes, restaurants, grocery shops and fruit and vegetable markets are all close by, and the neighbourhood felt safe. Just be prepared for five flights of stairs, as there’s no lift. Inside, the apartment was spacious and the fridge and microwave were well arranged. The bed was very comfortable, but the living room sofa was awful and uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend sleeping on it. The duvets on the beds had no covers and felt unhygienic. The bathroom and shower were great. The coffee maker was completely rusted inside and unusable, and there wasn’t a kettle. We also couldn’t find instructions for the hotplate or for changing the heating. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, since there are partygoers around. We stayed more than 10 days, but there was no extra toilet paper or rubbish bags. There were no directions for sorting recycling or for where to take the rubbish either.

The apartment had a nice welcome setup, with water and basics for a quick breakfast, plus a TV with Netflix and Wi-Fi. Keeping our luggage there until the last minute was really useful. Mr. Francesco gave us a great welcome and pointed out the main sights and places to eat. The location at MiaVia in Piazza San Martino is perfect, and the loft is well furnished. The shower drain had a minor issue, nothing serious. The two big problems were cleanliness and noise. The apartment was very, very dirty, a major oversight. In the "Silvia" apartment, weekend noise made it impossible to sleep before 2 a.m. There’s no soundproofing at all.
