Il Verreno

It feels like home here, thanks in part to the staff’s attitude. This isn’t a fancy hotel, but it’s an excellent place for a three generation holiday: grandparents can stay in a suite while children and grandchildren have an apartment. There are four apartments. It’s also a great base for visiting the Toscana wine route and the main cities. The gluten free kitchen makes it a paradise for people who need that. Breakfast was very good, and there’s a very good restaurant on site too. We’ll definitely come again.

My husband and I spent two nights at this resort, including one dinner. It was the best place we stayed during our Italy trip. The service was so nice, and our room was clean, large, and pretty. The food was great too. Everything was made fresh, and the dishes looked and tasted amazing. I’d give it six stars if I could 🤩

We were surrounded by lovely scenery, ate well, and found the staff friendly. But the noise between the attic and the rooms below was hard to ignore. You could hear everything, and the doors slammed loudly. With the guests above us making noise until dawn, our stay became a nightmare.

The kids had so much fun that they cried when it was time to leave, and we’d happily come back. We went as a big family, with grandparents and children aged 3 to 7, and there was plenty of outdoor space for them to run around. Our family room was comfortable and lovely, while the couples’ suites looked romantic too. Breakfast was the best, and they took good care of my son, who has celiac disease. Dinner was great as well. The owner and staff were so nice and always ready to help.
