I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share a very different experience from the poor ones I’d read. Yes, the coffee probably costs more than elsewhere, but that’s Capri on holiday. Watching mini-trucks unload from the ferry makes it easy to see how supplies are harder to bring to an island. We stopped twice in Marina Grande on the same day, first for a cappuccino after getting off the ferry, then for an espresso before leaving Capri. The window seats have a great harbor view of the arriving ferries and a direct view of Vesuvius. The gentlemen were kind and never made us feel pressured to order food with our coffee. We came back to sketch the view, and they remembered us and brought complimentary biscuits with our espressos. It was unseasonably cold during our March visit, but patio heaters and covered windows kept the space comfortable. There’s a customer bathroom across the street.

We just wanted to relax while waiting for our boat, but the owner was extremely rude. We ordered a large bottle of water, and he brought four small ones because he didn’t have it. When we asked the price, he started shouting that his restaurant had a nice view and that explained the high prices. Each small bottle was €5, so it would have come to €20 when all we wanted was one large bottle. A total tourist trap with extremely rude service.

The food and drinks were nice, but the prices were ridiculously high. Two drinks, two fruit salads, and a bottle of water came to more than 50 bucks.

The guy at the back kept staring at me with a disgusting look and making hand gestures toward my chest through the back window. It felt perverted and made me feel very unsafe, just for being there in a dress.

35€ for 5 cappuccinos. I’ve never seen anything like that, even in Sydney. Overrated. If you’re fine being treated like a cash machine, this is the place.
