The walk to the piste is only about 50 meters in winter, and if you have a ski lesson, an employee will take you there. We first came to Hotel Schmung in 2008 with our children, and now we return with friends. Helga, Andreas, and the staff make us feel at home and do their best to make each visit pleasant. It's a family-run hotel with good food, warm hospitality, excellent service, and plenty of facilities. We've already booked again for 2027.

The dinners were the standout for me, generous and elegant, and better than many Michelin-starred meals I've tried. This family-run hotel offers great value, with hospitality and quality that are hard to find together.

The location is great, and there are good facilities, including parking and a nice spa with an outdoor jacuzzi pool. My complaint is about dinner: although it was included in the room price, drinks weren't, not even water, which cost €4.90. Nobody mentioned this, either on the website or through the waiter. Being charged for a glass of water with an included meal felt uncomfortable.

We were a big group, so half board made sense, especially as there aren't many places to eat out at night. The food was okay, but five courses felt like too much; a more varied two-course option would be better. Our room was spacious, and there was underground storage for skis and shoes. Maria was especially helpful, and the nearby pub HUBER is a must. The owner came across as a little unfriendly, though I think that may just be her personality, and it didn't spoil our stay. The hotel is in a wonderful location, and we had a great experience overall.

The food was great, and the staff were kind. One thing to know: you can't get straight to the hotel from the ski slope, despite what the staff and website information say.
