The breakfast was so good, with seasonal fruit and local produce, and the rooms felt warm and comfortable. The house is tucked away from the main road, so it stays peaceful, but the location is still ideal. The hostess speaks Italian, German and English and gave us great ideas for things to do nearby. There’s parking too, and I fell in love with the cats. A lovely place for couples or a small group.

We’ll miss Paalhof and would love to come back one day. The farm was wonderfully quiet, and its two little cats were adorable. We had a great host and breakfast, and spent our days on some fantastic hikes nearby. The view of the Schlern mountain made this a memorable holiday.

The bus stop is right outside the gate, and there’s plenty of parking in the well-kept grounds. From this spotless, tidy B&B, it’s an easy walk through the countryside to Castelrotto, beneath Tisana’s pretty church. Sigora Herta runs the place. Breakfast came with fresh produce, homemade jams, freshly baked bread, excellent coffee and free-range eggs. Really lovely.

We spent a very happy stay here, and the garden is a lovely place to sit and relax. The women who run the place were warm, welcoming and attentive to their guests. Breakfast was generous, with freshly picked berries, homemade jam, fresh bread and lots of other good food. The mountain and valley views are breathtaking, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. I’d recommend staying here to anyone exploring the mountains on foot or by bike. A 10 out of 10 for us, and we’d choose it again if we return.
