Antiche Volte

I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Catania. The location is handy, less than a ten-minute walk from Catania Centrale railway station and the bus terminal, with a supermarket just across the street and shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. For afternoon or evening arrivals, check-in is self-service, but the directions are clear and simple. Breakfast was included in my rate and was more than enough to get the day started. I had an early checkout, so they kindly left some packed items out for me the night before.

The location is superb. I could get around Catania on foot and never needed public transport. I had a decent stay in one of the self-catered apartments, though the place was basic and nothing special. The bathroom in particular could have been cleaner, and the internet was patchy. I paid around EUR 55 a night for one person in September 2023.

We were there for 10 days and would happily stay again. Via Etnea is an easy walk away, and there’s a good park nearby for the kids. We rented a car and could park under the building, though spaces are limited. The room was spacious enough for two adults and two children under 4. Breakfast was simple and delicious, with a homely feel. For evening arrivals, they send self check-in instructions on WhatsApp. Oanna was especially lovely: she guided us step by step, spoke English very well, and even got the kids a special box with juice, sandwiches, coloring supplies and books.

Antiche Volte is on a quiet street, with restaurants and other services close by. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were really friendly. We stayed two nights, and the breakfast was just right.
