B&B Piccadilly House

The hosts are warm and welcoming, and the place has a lovely, homelike feel. Rooms are spacious and very clean, with access to a lovely terrace. This B&B is centrally located, close to the train and bus station and the main shopping area. Highly recommend.

For the price, the stay with my friend wasn’t bad, and the man who greeted us was very kind. Still, the place needs renovations. The shower fixture was broken, so we couldn’t hang the shower head to wash our hair, and there was a sign asking guests to take a fast shower. The toilet made loud noises all night. They were adding an elevator while we were there, and there was dust everywhere. The place felt very unkept, the floors were dusty, and the bed cover smelled like it hadn’t been changed. Wires stuck out of the railing and scratched me multiple times, so I’m going to get a tetanus shot just in case. Breakfast vouchers for the cafes downstairs were apparently worth only €5 for both of us and didn’t even cover our coffees. The location was okay.

Claudia and her husband made us feel welcome from the start. Claudia checked our arrival time by email two days ahead and was there when we buzzed. The room was spacious and very clean, and breakfast was good. Finding Piccadilly House was tricky because Google Maps had the wrong location, which I’ve since corrected. It’s near the top of the building and there’s no lift, so ask for help with heavy bags. Claudia’s husband can help if you ask. Bring cash for payment. I’d definitely recommend it, though the bathroom fixtures are dated and the shower backs up quickly.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the place is in a lovely plaza near the main tourist area. The room lighting was dim, though, and the bathroom lock was broken. There was also a bad smell and a lot of noise. The location is good, but the place needs maintenance.
