Magnolia Boutique Rooms

The day before my trip, I confirmed my arrival time and was told there was no room for me, even though my September booking had been confirmed after I booked directly in May to avoid intermediaries like Booking.com. I couldn't reach anyone at Magnolia by phone, and finding another room at the last minute was stressful. Hours later they called to say the email had been sent by mistake and that I did have a room, by then I'd wasted money on another booking. Not impressive service, though at least they eventually made an effort to communicate.

I had to unplug a scent device and leave the windows open for hours because my room was too strongly scented when I arrived. A clean room doesn't need such a strong fragrance, since people have different sensitivities. I also needed an eye mask because the room never got dark enough for me to sleep well. That said, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the room was spacious, very clean, and in working order. I liked the cute make-it-yourself breakfast setup. You can hear planes, but there’s a quiet spell from midnight to 6am, so it wasn't too bad. It's a very convenient five-minute walk from the airport, and I'd stay again for a late arrival or early flight from Catania.

The bed was extremely comfortable, with really nice linens, and the bathroom was lovely. The big showerhead gave endless hot water, and the toiletries were high quality. Breakfast was simple, but enough to keep you happy, and I appreciated having the minibar for a drink in the evening. Magnolia House is fantastic if you have an early flight, with the airport just a five-minute walk away. We loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat.

The room was a good size, nicely decorated, and spotless, and the service was impeccable. The window also gave us a beautiful view of Etna. Although there's no separate breakfast room, they provide a coffee machine, kettle, capsules, tea bags, biscuits, yogurt, milk, and juice. It was enough for a quick bite at 6 am before our flight. The air conditioning worked very well without blowing cold air on us, and the soundproofing was good for a place only a couple hundred meters from the runway. The terminals are about a five-minute walk away.
